Before the pandemic, Wyatt would go out five or six nights a week, and therefore there was little pressure to make sure each spot was a hit. While the majority of those interviewed by The Post were quick to pan New York’s Soho House locations in the Meatpacking District, Lower East Side and Dumbo in Brooklyn, they noted the European locations made membership worth the price of admission. While Glass House doesn’t break down the cities where most new members live, New Yorkers feel they are bearing the brunt of the hoi polloi’s invasion. The members club, which requires aspiring members to submit an application and list existing members as referrals, ballooned by more than 100,000 people during Covid. “You need a flare gun to get a waiter’s attention,” another source in the music business said of his ability to order cocktails that cost more than $20 a pop.

Rooms differ slightly depending on the size -- Small, Medium and Big, ranging from 300 to 750 square feet -- but they share many of the main ingredients. The style may strike some as slightly bohemian (in the same vein as the Gramercy Park Hotel), which seems appropriate given the club's targeting of creative types. Membership perks include monthly happenings like CEO-led workshops, rare whisky tastings, panel discussions, live music, and invites to offsite sporting and cultural events.

World premiere: Porsche takes the all-electric 2024 Macan to a new level

Ten years after its launch, the Porsche Macan is heading into a bold new direction, now in all-electric form. Through its progressive, timeless design, characteristic Porsche performance, range suitable for everyday use and high level of practicality, the new Macan 4 and Macan Turbo aim to completely fulfill the requirements of Porsche customers choosing an SUV.

The Ned’s interior spaces will sport their own names, like the Drawing Room and Conservatory. The Dining Room, filled with stained-glass fixtures, handsome wooden accents, and “sun-drenched dining settings,” is meant to evoke the Kennedy years. The Library transitions from a leisurely area by day to a nighttime lounge with an elegant bar and fireplace. While Carnie and Jones declined to provide too many specifics on what cities are next on the development pipeline, they indicated the company's Cities Without Houses membership platform is the road map used to determine next locations. The CWH platform hosts regular events in cities without physical Soho House locations and enables these members to access houses when traveling. Fancy shops and expensive, celebrity-chef restaurants are prevalent throughout the neighborhood, and at night, plunging necklines and sky-high heels appear as the young and trendy meander the cobblestone streets.

Streamlining: The standard-setting new Macan

The space includes a private members’ club, Ned’s Club, and a private events floor, alongside 10 restaurants and 250 bedrooms. The timeless designs of Porsche have appealed to fashionistas since the brand’s inception. To launch its second all-electric vehicle, the Macan, Porsche will kick off an all-star celebration of fashion and design at Soho House New York on 9th Ave on fashion’s biggest night, Monday May 6th. Hosted by actor Barry Keoghan, the evening will include a live musical performance by British singer and songwriter RAYE.

'Mary Jane' Broadway Review: Rachel McAdams is Solid In Gripping Play

jane by design cast

Even from rows back, you can see a hint of tears, the tick of a clock and checks of a to-do list behind McAdams’s smile, her lighthearted banter with her super (Brenda Wehle), at-home nurse Sherry (standout April Matthis), Sherry’s niece Amelia (Lily Santiago) and fellow mother Brianne (Susan Pourfar). Teenage Jane lands a job at Donovan Decker, a hip fashion house, when they mistake her for an adult. Jane By Design (formerly known as What Would Jane Do) is a light-hearted drama about Jane, a teenager who lands a job at a hip retail company when they mistake her for an adult. Jane Quimby, (Erica Dasher) is a teenager, mistaken for an adult, who lands her fashion dream job. She has her best friend Billy (Nick Roux) help her out, although he had a relationship with Lulu (Meagan Tandy), a girl who has been mean to Jane since the seventh grade.

As a single mom caring for a special needs child, the weight of Mary Jane’s existence and her adoration and love for her son are the anchors fortifying this narrative. By the time the final curtain on “Mary Jane” drops, the audience is fully immersed in the titular character’s experiences. McAdams masters her portrayal of a determined caregiver continually sitting in the uncertainty of worry, despite constantly leaning toward positivity. Here you will find an overview of the cast & crew of Jane by Design season 1, including all the actors, actresses and the director. When you click on a person, you can watch more movies and/or series by him or her. It’s a tricky system to capture in a tight play with a five-person cast and sparse, economical staging at the Samuel J Friedman Theatre, but it’s one this Broadway edition, directed by Anne Kauffman, manages to wrangle through the nucleus of Mary Jane. She’s the center of a network of women who help care for Alex, from contracted at-home nurses to emergency room doctors to supportive parents of fellow chronically ill children. The first half of the play takes place in Mary Jane’s Queens apartment, which is small, bright and lightly cluttered and which levitates to reveal a sterile, eerily white hospital set for the second half.

Must Read

A teenager lands a job at Donovan Decker, a hip fashion house, when they mistake her for an adult. Jane soon finds herself juggling life both as a regular high school student and as an assistant to a high powered executive in the cutthroat world of fashion... It’s McAdams’s Broadway debut, and though she started the play, in my viewing, a bit jittery and unnaturally rhythmic, she soon settled into her role as the linchpin in this young’s boy curtailed life with magnetic ease.

Jane Quimby (Erica Dasher), an average, everyday 16-year-old girl, winds up with a job at the prestigious fashion company Donovan Decker and a chance to work with a world-famous designer, Gray Chandler Murray (Andie MacDowell) and her quirky co-workers, Jeremy Jones (Rowley Dennis), India Jourdain (India de Beaufort). They do not know how old she is or that she is still in high school. Here you will find an overview of the cast & crew of the Jane by Design series from the year 2012, including all actors, actresses and the director. When you click on the name of an actor, actress or director from the Jane by Design series, you can view more films and/or series by him or her. A teenager leads a double life as a high-school student and an assistant to a fashion executive. And so much does she desire Alex’s comfort, his fleeting moments of child joy, despite tubes and immobility and illness.

Season Info

The subtext of the scene is that the doctor, leaving room for hope, is gently trying to get the mother to realize the bleakness of her child’s prospects and thus better weigh the risks and benefits. Herzog’s skill as a writer means that you feel the conversation alongside McAdams’ character, you are alongside her on a journey no one wants to take. As the 95-minute show progresses, the audience becomes oriented on Mary Jane’s world and gets up to speed on her son Alex’s condition. Mary Jane’s daily schedule revolves around medications, machines, timers and very little sleep. Alex has been assigned a fleet of night nurses, but Sherry (April Matthis), who has worked with the mother and son for the past year, is the most consistent and dependable. Her nurturing energy extends beyond the young boy to Mary Jane, making the trio a makeshift family.

Now Billy dates the new girl, Zoe, which makes Jane feel like he's replacing her. Jane's father died and her mother ran out on Jane and Ben before the series started. Jane's mother has returned home to Jane and Ben, and she stays awhile. Her brother Ben (David Clayton Rogers) tries to make money by getting jobs, but the jobs never work out until he lands one as the athletic assistant at Jane's school. At Donovan Decker, Jane discovers a world full of fashion challenges working for Gray Chandler Murray (Andie MacDowell) and tackles them with the help of her co-workers, Jeremy Jones (Rowley Dennis), India Jourdain (India de Beaufort), Carter (Ser'Darius Blain) and Birdie (Brooke Lyons).

In 1976, she also originated the role of Melba Snyder in Broadway's Pal Joey. After starring as Julia Sugarbaker on all seven seasons of Designing Women, she played Randi King on Family Law beginning in 1999. All the actors in “Mary Jane” save for McAdams portray dual characters in the first two acts. Jared Janas and Brenda Abbandandolo, respectively, work well.

Hard to think of another play that understands so well. Potts married husband James Hayman in 1990, and they later welcomed two children together. Potts is also mom to son Clay Senechal, whom she shares with ex-husband B.

The play has a hypnotic, suffusive effect – there’s not one heartbreaking or cathartic moment but a series of many wins and setbacks, hurdles and sprints of human care, that left me on the verge of tears for hours afterwards. In her small gestures – climbing into bed with Alex, reassuring him that “Mama’s here” – McAdams, with the chorus of help around her, conjures a world of compassion, one I missed when it was over. Alex, the two-year-old child at the center of Amy Herzog’s excellent play Mary Jane, is a constant presence on stage, despite never showing his face nor saying a word. Alex can’t, actually, vocalize anything – he was born with a paralyzed vocal cord, his endearingly peppy mother explains, along with other health conditions such as cerebral palsy, requiring round-the-clock care.

(Lighting design by Ben Stanton and sound design by Leah Gelpe provide liminal, effective transitions between scenes and days.) McAdams’ peculiarly chipper, strained cadence reveals not just Mary Jane’s resilience but also, in part, her desocialization, so much has care for Alex consumed the world of this former aspiring teacher. Herzog is writing about a mom who talks to relieve stress and prevent her own breakdown and she shares some of that compassion with a couple of other characters, including another hospital mom, Chaya, played by Susan Pourfar. This carefully calibrated and furiously unsentimental scene, intimate but uneasy between two women of utterly different experiences, will be familiar to anyone who has built an unlikely relationship in a hospital or care home. Performances are solid throughout, though McAdams’ projection was muted at a recent performance. Still, it’s the story that truly drives “Mary Jane.” More often than not, the labor of child rearing lies heavily on the mother, who is frequently the primary parent, whether partnered or otherwise.

The power of the performance lies in McAdams’ ability to deglamorize herself without letting that undermine the formidable, everyday optimism of this character. How could all of this happen to her, you keep thinking, letting the play send your mind spinning as to what life for Mary Jane would have been like without this challenge. “Mary Jane,” which stars the excellent Rachel McAdams in the title role and was first seen at the New York Theatre Workshop in 2017, is a closely observed play, reflective of the same attention to detail that its title character showers on her child, who has cerebral palsy.

There is an exquisite grasp here of the feeling that Karen Carpenter was expressing in the song where she sang “Don’t they know it’s the end of the world,” the bizarre disconnect those under familial stress feel from a world that refuses to stop or even slow down. During her tenure as Mary Jo Shively on Designing Women's seven-season run, Annie Potts, now 71, also landed several film roles in iconic movies, including Pretty in Pink, Jumpin' Jack Flash and Ghostbusters II (after starring in the first film in 1984). Dixie Carter began her career in TV in the 1970s, with her first onscreen credit coming from The Edge of the Night.

Season 1 of Jane by Design premiered on January 3, 2012. The following is a table with the average estimated number of viewers per episode of Jane by Design on ABC Family.

Custom Gates & Fences Designer, Contractor & Installers

design gate design

The florals growing around the oval arch are like something straight out of a magazine, creating a swoon-worthy space that any passerby would stop and stare at. The spider-like trees that line the dirt road add a storybook feel to this property, and we can only guess that it must look bright and inviting during the spring and summer months. We love that this gate doesn’t obscure any rural scenery and feels rustic and hand-crafted.

White picket fence

Whether guarding a lush garden or a serene backyard, these wooden gates are as diverse as they are essential, embodying the character of each property they secure. Creating a main gate design for the properties constructed on the sloped surfaces is a bit difficult. In that case, gate designs like folding gates come into the picture.

Another plus point is that this main door gate design is less expensive compared to other main gate designs. These gates offer high security and a beautiful finished look to your home. So, if you want a budget-friendly main gate design with security, go with a retractable gate design. A blend of two contrasting materials can end up in a stunning main gate design. This modern gate design will provide the utmost functionality without compromising on aesthetics.

Property Tax

Gravity pulls them down some more and eventually, this leads to issues of accelerated wear and tear. The same can be said with swing gates being in windy locations. They tend to take up way more abuse than necessary and this can shorten the life span of your gate. You get to have all of the luxury and benefits of having an enclosure installed without ever needing extra space for where your gateway can swing or arc when they are wide open. Even the smallest driveways can be gated with little to no trouble at all.

Dallas Style

When you want good coverage without totally blocking the view, this contemporary aluminium driveway gate is perfect. The sleek grey metal sheen complements the modern grey tones of the fence and home. A great updated look of the classic wrought iron fence and gate. Instead of the curves and lace designs, this one went minimalist and current with clean lines and fewer trims. To enhance the visual appeal of your gate design adding lighting is a great option while having functionality and safety at place. Main gate light designs were very popular in 2022, with homeowners opting for creative lighting solutions to highlight their gate’s features.

The uniformity in height and the density of the leaves create a serene and immersive environment, encapsulating the beauty of nature within a personal space. The fence, adorned with heart motifs, merges artistry with functionality. Repurposed shutters in varying shades of green form a canvas for whimsical decorations, making it more than a boundary – it’s a personal expression.

Rough raw wood fence

When you want to go for the extraordinary and impressive kerb appeal, this chrome pipe fence and gate will certainly catch all the attention. The sturdy material will last a long time, making this edgy gate also a practical choice. When you need maximum security and still want your gate to look welcoming. Painting it white tones down the imposing look, while the slot design provides a good view from either side.

You can get anything within your budget in multiple colors or tones, from silvery to grayish. What makes this material so popular among people around the globe is its high-strength and low weight. This material has a mirror-like shine that will give a unique look to your dwelling.

Stunning Kitchen Flooring Ideas for Your Home

To ensure that a modern home gate Designs remains in top condition, regular maintenance is important. This includes cleaning the gate regularly, lubricating the moving parts, and inspecting for any signs of damage.

Sand and refinish the wood when the finish starts to fade and replace any damaged components promptly to prevent further deterioration. As it swings open, it narrates tales of repurposed beauty, and the quaint charm it introduces to your sideyard becomes the stuff of neighborhood legends. Embrace the idea of turning the everyday pallet into an entrance filled with stories and rustic allure. Every time you pass through, you’re not just walking through a gate; you’re stepping into a realm where artistry and history beautifully converge. This attractive, mint green gate is gorgeous enough on its own, but a covering of hyacinth bean vines adds a splash of purple and a truly exceptional look.

We can furnish both functional and highly decorative tailored gates on request. Our customers include professional contractors and fencing distributors, as well as property management firms, developers and legions of satisfied private real estate owners. We suggest you paint or coat the main gate door to ensure it does not rust. Yes, if you have the right tools and skills, you can design and build your own gate. However, for complex designs or if you’re unsure, it’s best to hire a professional. Incorporating elements that reflect your hobbies and interests is another way to customize your gate.

For metal gates, look out for signs of rust and address them promptly. Consider your property’s style, whether it’s modern, rustic, or traditional. Evaluate the gate’s intended function, such as enhancing privacy or adding curb appeal. Take note of the gate’s dimensions, ensuring it fits the entry space appropriately. Browse through different designs, like arched, picket, or lattice patterns, to find one that resonates with your vision.

There’s something so relaxing about a traditional white picket fence, especially one surrounded by rose bushes and vines allowed to grow wild. This gate is encircled by lush greenery and is doubly attractive thanks to the trellises overhead that will someday be covered with flowers and vines. Adding a pergola to your front gate easily boosts your home’s kerb appeal.

Today you can get different design options in the main door iron gate design. The home above the picture has a gorgeous double-door swing iron gate, giving the property an elegant and classy look. Due to its low maintenance, sophisticated looks, and affordability, this gate design is trending globally. Available in various materials, you can get a sliding door for your home in various designs. In fact, matching your gate design to your home’s architectural style can create a cohesive aesthetic appeal.

Sliding Gate Design Styles & Materials

design gate design

There are many styles available for modern home main gate designs such as, sleek and minimalist to ornate and decorative. Some popular gate design ideas include geometric patterns, laser-cut designs, and gates with integrated lighting. These designs can add a unique touch to a property’s entrance, making it distinctive and unique.

Quaint Modern Farmhouse Gates

design gate design

The single ones range from $1000 to $3000+ while the double ones range from $2000 to $5000+. Chains usually have their own categories of numerical gauge ratings. These gauge ratings will determine the sizes that you will need for your specific sliding gateway. If you live in an area that’s prone to termite, pre-treated fir is a very good wood option to consider for your sliding gate. You also have the option to keep it natural by just giving it a clear stain.

Mesh wire fence

Now, thanks to today’s inspirations, and maybe on a much smaller scale, you can protect your own modern domain. Imposing, sturdy and impressive, the gate also comes with a slider feature for ease of operation. Efficient and minimalist, the design features blocks of solid sage green steel and steel mesh insets.

Arched Blue Garden Gate

The path beyond promises tranquility and the joy of nature’s embrace. Building a home is a process and each part involves immense labor of love, even if it is just the fences. Yes, even the tiny wooden picket line around your backyard matters. Wrought iron is the better version of the iron, which can be shaped into various door styles and designs to get the desired shape. The maintenance of this heavy metal is low, and it will last you at least a few decades. However, they cut down the cost of the security guards required to operate the main gate.

Folding Gates

This enduring structure not only enhances the environment but also offers practical longevity and minimal maintenance, proving to be a wise investment for any property. The shiny steel fence and metal gate present a modern and secure boundary for the property. Reflecting the sunlight, the gate’s sleek surface and clean lines complement the contemporary landscaping. This metallic barrier merges form with function, offering a sturdy and stylish solution for homeowners seeking a minimalist yet protective enclosure.

Set the tone for your backyard with these wooden gate ideas, which are perfect for a range of outdoor spaces, from cottage-style gardens to formal lawns. If you want to make a bold statement about your home’s style invest in a good size of the gate. 8 feet main gate designs gained very high popularity in 2022 for their grandeur and presence. Even now whether you prefer a minimalist design or a more elaborate one, an 8 feet main gate can create an evident entrance that sets your home apart. The simple main gate designs have an element of beauty, functionality, and a lighter tone to the exterior home decor. For a low-cost simple main gate design, you can opt for Iron as a gate material.

Every entry becomes a serene experience, a gentle embrace of modern design blended with timeless woodwork. Whether guarding a garden or gracing an entrance, the lattice fence gate introduces a touch of classic charm, while also offering a delightful play of texture and form. Let your space radiate with the harmonious blend of tradition and creativity that this gate so effortlessly embodies. It’s more than just an entry—it’s a declaration of modern design sensibilities, a nod to the here and now. Allow your space to be transformed, bridging the warmth of wood with the sleekness of modern design, through the captivating allure of the timber strip gate.

A sliding fence in soft cream offers a modern, unobtrusive boundary. Its horizontal slats afford partial visibility while maintaining a sense of privacy. This fence is an example of contemporary design meeting practicality, as it glides open smoothly to welcome visitors, and closes just as effortlessly to secure the space. Today many architects and designers use glass worldwide to get modern and contemporary interiors and exteriors. This versatile material comes in a wide variety of textures and designs.

A Touch of Willow Sticks

For homes with a lot of space for the driveway, swing doors may not appear good. These doors work in a telescopic manner and involve several small sliding panels to open or close. You can choose if you want them to bring in automation and make them automatic gates or retain them as manually-operated gates. Sliding gates are practical for properties with limited space or steep driveways, which are common features in the hilly terrain of Redwood City. You can opt for a full steel or metal sliding gate or you can opt for a wooden one. Gates are important parts of homes and businesses that bring in added security and contribute to the aesthetics and overall curb appeal of the home.

This design, while firmly rooted in its purpose to shield and protect, does not shy away from showcasing the grandeur of wood in all its splendor. This garden gate was built by attaching second-hand garden tools as diagonal “rungs” and “slats” on a swinging cedar frame. Though this gate won’t afford you much privacy, it will certainly give you a chance to showcase your creativity. Wooden gates cradled in large, dominating hedges always make us think of The Secret Garden. A gate like this can’t help but encourage wonder and curiosity from anyone who passes by. This design feature makes a garden or outdoor space feel truly magical and special, no matter what lies on the other side.

A bare metal sheet, precise cuts added and traditional hinges and latch, the design is inspiring – effortlessly classy. Even though it has a conventional design and operating style, this door adds an old charm to the entire property. There’s tons of inspiration to be found for cool wooden gate designs you could try out in your own garden or backyard. From white-painted picket fences to rustic natural wood, gates seem to appear like magic from overgrown hedges. The modern steel gate designs are perfect for the main gate designs. Fired up on Regent Seven Seas Grandeur cooking class: Travel Weekly

regent cruise

Following the purchase, Apollo made public their plans to order a new ship for Regent. The new ship was planned to be of similar dimensions and capacity as the Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Mariner, but with larger accommodations and expanded public spaces. Unlike on the bigger Explorer Class ships, there is no Asian eatery on either of the vessels.

Exclusive Special Offers & More

Among other luxury touches, every cabin on every Regent ship is a suite, and the number of restaurants, bars and lounges is impressive for vessels of this size. They also operate with roughly 1 crew member for every 1.4 passengers — one of the higher crew-to-passenger ratios in the cruise business (though not as high as on Crystal's recently revamped ships, which now operate at a stunning 1-to-1 crew-to-passenger ratio). Here, we explain the distinctive features of Regent's two ship classes so you can plan the luxury cruise that's right for you. Seven Seas Splendor will spend the next couple months sailing out of Miami, San Diego and New York City before moving to Europe for the spring, summer and fall. European itineraries will include voyages to the French Riviera, Greek Islands, Iberian Peninsula and United Kingdom.

Grand Voyages

For those of you keeping track, that makes the suite more than three times the size of the much-ballyhooed, two-deck-high Ultimate Family Suite that Royal Caribbean recently put atop Symphony of the Seas, the world's biggest cruise ship. It's also way bigger than the giant Sky Suites that Princess Cruises just unveiled on its new Sky Princess. For the record, I'm the kind of guy who rarely spends over $10,000 a night for a cabin on a cruise ship.

Voyage Collection Debut

And you'll find no plastic water bottles onboard thanks to the line's Vero Water initiative that sees suites equipped with reusable water bottles. If you enjoy luxury cruising and staying in high-end hotels when you travel, you'll feel right at home on this all-inclusive cruise line. Regent’s spacious ships offer sumptuous all-suite accommodation that is some of the largest you'll find at sea.

While the ship offers few surprises to experienced Regent guests, each successive ship has doubled down on what the cruise line does best. And one of those things is the Culinary Arts Kitchen, a distinguishing feature of the Explorer class. Strengthening communities the line visits is another focus, with a range of sustainable, socially and environmentally responsible shore tours available for guests. If you can bring yourself to get off your beautiful ship, you'll be spoiled for choice with an impressive array of immersive tours and experiences. With port calls in more than 550 destinations, many of them with late departures or extended overnight stays, it’s no surprise Regent Seven Seas Cruises won Best for Destinations in the Luxury Category of the Cruise Critic UK Editors' Picks Awards 2023.

regent cruise

Regent lumps all of these ships together in one class, and we do, too, because they share many of the same features despite their size variation. For the most part, the footprints of all three ships in this series are the same, but eagle-eyed cruisers will notice that Regent made a few tweaks to the design as the series developed. Still, it's in the bigger cabin complexes at the front and back of the Explorer Class ships where things get really impressive.

DISCOVER WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SHARING

The smaller Seven Seas Navigator, which holds just 490 passengers, has all of the same eateries above, too, with the exception of Chartreuse. Among standout features, all Explorer Class vessels have an elaborate cooking classroom, which doesn't exist on older Regent ships. Dubbed the Culinary Arts Kitchen, each of these venues has 18 individual cooking stations tricked out with top-of-the-line induction cooktops, stainless steel sinks and all sorts of cool cooking equipment. Built over the past decade, the Explorer Class ships are the line's newest, biggest and most elegant vessels. The Small Cruise Ship Class ships are much older vessels and, as the class name suggests, the smallest ships in the Regent fleet.

Seven Seas Voyager

As is often the case in the luxury cruise market, every cabin on these ships is a suite with a balcony (something that is also true for two of the line's three older ships). Even the smallest of the accommodations measures 307 square feet, which is not too shabby for a cruise ship. The joy that comes from the anticipation of venturing out into the world’s oceans, cruising from one new destination to another, is the true beginning of every journey. In 2023 and 2024, choose from over 125 in-port overnights, visiting as many as 15 new ports of call and extend your time ashore with FREE Land Programs available on over 25 incredible voyages. Explore and discover your ideal adventure on the Seven Seas, making the most of each opportunity as we exceed your expectations with every luxury included. With some impressive deals to help you cruise more often, there's never been a better time to set sail with Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Highlights of the overnight stay programme include destinations such as Bangkok, Monte Carlo and Istanbul. Safaga, a popular jumping-off point for tours exploring the many wonders of Luxor in Egypt, is another highlight of Regent Seven Seas' extended stay programme. If you're a fan of discovering the city's nightlife, there are more than 100 overnight ports of call to choose from. You'll also find specialist guest lecturers onboard to enrich every trip.

The ship’s features include the first Fabergé egg with a permanent home at sea. The blue-pearl-and-diamond sculpture titled “Journey in Jewels” is a small but commanding centerpiece rotating within its display case in the atrium for travelers to enjoy as soon as they step on board. The luxury pedigree that Regent Seven Seas welcomed with Seven Seas Explorer in 2016 continued with sister ship Seven Seas Splendor in 2020, but the third and final sister Seven Seas Grandeur offers up the best of class.

Spotlight Voyages take this concept one step further with a range of programming tailored to special interests like war history, winemaking or tracing your ancestors as you explore the lands where they once walked. If you're an experienced and refined traveller who appreciates the finer things in life, Regent Seven Seas Cruises could be just what you're looking for. This stylish luxury line prides itself on delivering an unrivalled experience at sea on what is widely regarded as the world's most luxurious fleet. Both space-per-passenger ratios and staff-to-passenger ratios are measurements used as shorthand for the luxury level of a vessel.

The latest innovations in technology and wellness also take centre stage, like a zero-gravity wellness massage that takes place on an amber and quartz crystal bed -- one of Seven Seas Grandeur's invigorating new spa experiences. Regent Seven Seas Cruises has six ships that provide a limited number of guests the highest standard of cruising excellence combined with exciting opportunities for discovery around the world. Browse and compare Regent Seven Seas cruise ships, an award-winning luxury fleet of all-inclusive ships. Please note that all prices on our website are in US dollars, and travel purchases must be completed with a major credit card. Unless you are considering one of our custom cruise itineraries, certain cruise lines prohibit US-based travel agencies from selling to non-US residents. So, at Regent Seven Seas Cruises – the only truly all-inclusive luxury cruise line – we offer thousands of FREE Unlimited Shore Excursions to explore however you please when sailing to the over 550 ports of call that we sail to across the globe.

The three ships in the simply named Small Cruise Ship Class are considerably older than the line's Explorer Class ships and aren't quite as big — or opulent — as their sisters. Each of the vessels in the Explorer Class has been built to the same basic design. The three ships in the Small Cruise Ship Class have more differences, though they share many of the same venues.

It’s part of a 1,600-piece art collection that includes classic black-and-white photos from global destinations adorning the hallways between cabins to the steakhouse’s original Picassos. Travelers could spend a good afternoon wandering hallways and public spaces, akin to visiting a museum. A new app for the line also offers a digital art tour, like a personal guide. Cruise Critic is not a booking agent and does not charge any service fees to users of our site. Our partners who list cruise pricing on Cruise Critic are required to provide prices for cruise only or cruise packages, per person, double occupancy, and are based on specific cabin types and sailing dates, and may not be available for all cabin types/sailings.

It's big enough that it also can be used as a personal spa treatment room. But, having seen quite a few super-suites in my 20-plus years of travel writing, I can say that Montague may have a point. Back again is the Culinary Arts Kitchen, a staple borrowed from sister line Oceania Cruises, but a massively popular offering that lets 18 students create memorable dishes under the guidance of a chef team.

Danube river cruises: an ultimate guide to cruising the Danube

river danube river cruise

Week-long sailings are a great option for first-timers as they offer a combination of cosmopolitan cities and quaint towns for a well-rounded Danube River cruise experience. With a length of almost 2,900 kilometers, the river runs from the Black Forest to the Black Sea and crosses ten countries on its journey. Accordingly, there is a lot to see and experience on a river cruise on the Danube. With Vienna and Budapest, two of Europe's most beautiful and important cities lie on the banks of the Danube, their magnificent buildings bearing witness to their centuries-old history.

Go Glam to Attend the Vienna State Opera

river danube river cruise

But travelers should also have seen historic cities such as Regensburg, Passau, Linz and Bratislava. The Danube is a year-round destination with the exception of January and February, when few cruise lines operate here. Summer, when the weather is hottest, is peak season and as a result Europe’s cities are particularly crowded.

Viking Inclusive Value

The old town’s Neupfarrplatz square is a cross section of history—it was once a thriving Jewish quarter, a bustling marketplace and the site of Nazi book burnings. The Danube either flows through or delineates part of the border of Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine. Many cruises traverse the stretch between the capital cities of Vienna, Austria and Budapest, Hungary, starting or ending at either location.

Splendours of Europe (Start Amsterdam, End Budapest)

You may recognize the abbey as one of the filming locations used in "The Sound of Music." Salzburg is one of Europe's truly magical cities and is easily reached from Passau on a Danube River cruise. Home of "The Sound of Music," the hills are also alive with the classical sounds of Mozart, one of history's greatest composers, who was born in Salzburg. Dedicate time to exploring Salzburg's UNESCO-listed Italianate Old Town, before visiting Hagenauer House at Getreidegasse 9, where the composter was born on January 27, 1756. The pastel-hued Göttweig Abbey is nestled in an emerald-green forest with superb views of the Wachau Valley from its hillside location near Krems.

European River Cruise Packing Tips for No-fuss Travelers

All meals and drinks, including sparkling wines and cocktails, are included, as are snacks and afternoon tea. Also included is the use of the sauna, gym and top-deck heated swimming pool. And that’s all without mentioning the entertainment and facilities onboard your ship. If you love dazzling landscapes, magnificent architecture and fabulous food, a Danube river cruise is hard to beat.

European Sojourn

Because of that, we recommend taking a Danube river cruise in April, May, September and October. Good Housekeeping's seven-night itinerary sails in September, when the weather should still be balmy and dry, but the summer hordes have gone home. Fall in love with some of the world's most scenic rivers, passing charming landscapes and cityscapes. Add to that a well-timed, well-chosen glass of wine or classic cocktail (best enjoyed at sunset, up on deck) – and the temptation becomes too great to resist. The ancient origins of its name are lost in the mists of time – with contenders including a bringer of luck, a Vedic river goddess, and even words meaning swift, violent and undisciplined. Gliding peacefully between its famous and endlessly enchanting river banks, you’ll experience for yourself the calm delights that inspired “the beautiful blue Danube” of Johann Strauss’s immortal waltz and lullaby.

Music is everywhere on the shores of the river Danube – from the wild genius of Mozart in Salzburg to Beethoven, Brahms, and an entire family of Strausses in classical Vienna. You’ll follow in the wake of emperors and kings on your Danube river cruise, too. The Danube River is one of the most famous rivers in Europe, so naturally, it is also a popular river cruise destination.

Along the way it shadows centuries-old storybook villages that appear unchanged by time and cuts through sophisticated world capitals, like Vienna and Budapest. Experience Europe’s best river cruise destinations in 2024 by joining any of these rail and cruise tours, each with a spellbinding route and enamoring scenery. Danube cruises can be great value, with our cruise through Austria, Hungary and Slovakia starting just over £2,000 per person for a week.

See the cultural and historic highlights of one of Germany’s most relaxed cities at the foothills of the Alps. Visit a splendid abbey, founded in the 7th century, at a spectacularly scenic bend in the Danube Narrows. Discover the delights of Vienna and browse the museums or enjoy a Viennese pastry. Admire Vienna’s architecture, linger at a café or visit the Hapsburgs’ Schönbrunn Palace. Sail the picturesque Wachau Valley, a UNESCO Site, and admire views of hillside vineyards. Savor a taste of Bavaria and sample a selection of local cheeses, hams and sausages.

As such, it has been an important transportation route for more than 2,000 years. More days means more to discover, with extension packages you can add before or after your Viking cruise or cruisetour. Enjoy additional days to explore your embarkation or disembarkation city, or see a new destination altogether with a choice of exciting cities.Pre & Post Cruise Extensions vary by itinerary and are subject to change. The symmetrical building includes piercing spires and a central dome, with two parliament halls on either side. One can be explored during a guided tour, while the other is in use by the Hungarian National Assembly. Wander the courtyards, marvel some of the 242 sculptures and statues of Hungarian rulers and famous national figures and gaze at vivid frescoes.

This extraordinary waterway is Europe's second-largest river, winding 1,775-miles southeast from Germany's Black Forest to the Black Sea, with a river cruise presenting the best way to explore it. From the end of November to mid-December, Danube ships operate Christmas Markets cruises. Other ports include Linz and Passau, where day trips are often offered to Salzburg and the medieval city of Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic. And the quaint villages in the fruit- and schnapps-producing Wachau Valley are also a highlight.

If you travel to Passau with your own car, we recommend booking a space in the Globus parking garage there. Our partner Globus will take you with your luggage directly from the parking garage to the ship on the day of arrival and will conveniently pick you up from the ship on the last day of your trip. You will receive further information about the parking facilities and the voucher with your travel documents. Having escaped major damage during World War II, the picturesque town of Regensburg is one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities, the oldest city along the Danube and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Old Stone Bridge, constructed in the 12th century, is a masterpiece of medieval engineering with its 16 arches. St. Peter’s Cathedral is widely considered Bavaria’s best Gothic architectural work.

I have already filled out all the info in the app but I assumed that there must be somewhere else I needed to enter it. The issue was that the people in customer service and the upsell department can't see anything we've entered into the app, including credit card info. They never stored that in the the cruise personalizer like they do your passport info.

You used to have to enter your credit card info in the cruise personalizer or give a credit card at check-in. I read some people put cash into their account at guest services in lieu of a credit card. Always before when I logged onto my princess there was an option to select cruise personalizer. Now it says check in but when I do that it just tells me to download the app. If you choose to, you can continue to use the existing MedallionClass® app on your upcoming cruise (until February 1, 2024). I called customer service and they were telling me to access cruise personalizer the old way.

cruise personalizer

After repeatedly telling them that it just says to download the app she put me on hold and was gone for a long time. Are not aware that cruisers cant access the old cruise personalizer! Select Booked Guests from the header, then from the drop down select cruise personlizer.

There are two ways to sign in, either by logging into your Princess account or specific by cruise. Complete all your immigration information and enter your credit or debit card. 75 days out from the cruise you can print your luggage tags and your boarding pass(s).

When you have a booking with Princess you can sign in to your booking and the personalizer shows up. You put the information you need to board into the form, choose shore excursions, etc. I guess we must have done so, can't think of anywhere else I would have given CC info. I am wary of sites that store CC information and have been reluctant to add it to Medallion far in advance of cruise date. Out TA does not store CC info and I need to give it to her when ever a payment is due - I prefer that. My preference would be for Princess to store CC info just for the duration of the cruise.

Most cruise lines also offer a special and affordable drink package for your trip. Different from an all inclusive resort, you wake up at a new port throughout your vacation rather than the same scenery. From temple trekking in Cozumel to whale watching in Ensenada.

If you can be flexible when it comes to your travel dates, you’ll have your pick of unbeatable savings. Popular vacation dates — like the holidays, spring break, summer vacation and week long cruises — sometimes see the highest prices (though you might get lucky with a seasonal sale). If you have the flexibility to travel during the shoulder season or off season, you’ll likely enjoy big savings on popular stateroom categories, like Balconies and even Suites. The deals don’t only apply to your cruise fare, though. When you have decided and booked your perfect cruise, you will not only enjoy anticipation, but also celebrate that you have saved money.
